hiraeth

welsh · noun a homesickness for somewhere you cannot return to. sometimes for a place that was never yours, and sometimes for one that never existed at all.

i miss a place that never stayed, a home i built from light and fade. it lives in corners of my mind, behind the now, and out of time.

i see it sometimes, soft and far, between the sky and who we are. not real, but still it aches so deep, a dream i lost, but couldn’t keep.
